Dispute Ticket Status (NV Only)

Dispute (DSPT) – This status addresses a long-standing issue in Nevada regarding electronic positive responses (EPRs) that do not accurately reflect field conditions. Excavators will now have the ability to dispute a posted EPR when there is a discrepancy between the response and the actual site conditions. For example, if a locator marks a ticket as "White Pre-Markings Unclear – New Ticket Required" (Code 24) but other utilities/locators were able to complete their markings and the excavator has documented the pre-markings, a Dispute ticket can now be submitted by the excavator. This will prompt the utility or locator to re-evaluate, re-respond, and provide an accurate response. We anticipate this new ticket status going live on August 1, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, please review the attached documentation, which includes examples of this new ticket status and details on how to adjust your systems to receive them. We encourage you to update your internal processes accordingly and ensure your teams are prepared for these enhancements.
